Lady J Huston is respected as one of the most spectacular entertainers on the music scene! She is renown for her captivating Vocals, Trumpet, and mesmerizing Stage Presence. Her 2023 album "Groove Me Baby" album won the prestigious Blues Blast Magazine Music Award for "New Artist Debut Album", including awards by the International Songwriters Competition, Global Music Awards, Hollywood Independent Music Awards & more!
In 2008, Lady J performed in Hollywood on America's Got Talent with the Audition All-Stars cast which aired worldwide to millions. She had a feature story ion ABC World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer (2013), and other features in TV, newspapers, magazines, podcasts & more; performing in nightclubs, festivals, & showrooms across the country. She's opened for artists including Guitar Shorty, Wynonna Judd, Bobby Blue Bland, Bill Pickney's Original Drifters, Lowel Fulson, and has performed with Bobby Rush, Robbie Montgomery (Sweetie Pie's), Freddie Hubbard, Donald Byrd, Dizzy Gillespie, Johnnie Johnson & other acclaimed artists. In H.S. she even marched beside Tony Randall at the Municipal Opera House in the Broadway play, "The Music Man".
Lady J began performing as a child prodigy dancer on shows with her mother, Loyce P. Huston, an amazing contralto song-stylist. Graduating H.S. as valedictorian & most talented female, she accepted scholarships to the University of Kansas & Howard University as a Music Theory/Composition major with minors in Trumpet & Voice. In between these studies, she toured with Blues legend Albert King at 18 years-old as Trumpeter, Vocalist & opening act, eventually becoming the Music Director. They headlined shows alongside greats such as: B.B. King, Etta James, Bobby Blue Bland, Robert Cray, and more! A native St. Louisan, she settled in Las Vegas, NV for 25 years winning multiple Las Vegas Black Music Awards in Blues (performer and band) from 2009-2013 achieving acclaim as The Las Vegas Queen of Blues. During her standing-room-only, star-studded farewell show in 2013, her band was inducted in the Las Vegas ECE Hall of Fame and voted the Best Blues Band of the Year.
2018 debuted the "Lady J Huston Show" in St. Louis, MO, at the National Blues Museum immediately becoming a fan favorite. She's graced the stages of the best venues and festivals such as Music at the Intersection headlining with Erykah Badu, Buddy Guy, Gary Clark, Jr. , and is recognized as one of the areas finest performers. THE LADY J HUSTON SHOW is an electrifying blend of Las Vegas pizzazz with the sass of St. Louis Blues, Classic Soul & Jazz. The band members also showcase their talents providing an array of unquestionable, foot-tapping fun that audiences love.
